Might snobbery put off learners?

Mike Baker of the BBC argues that the row over young people being able to obtain vocational qulaifications whilst working at McDonald’s illustrates that snobbery is still alive and kicking in the English education system.
Mike Baker ask the question: ”what effect will this have on young workers, at McDonald’s or elsewhere, who might have been persuaded to give learning a second go?”
As if to prove his point Dennis Hayes writing in Spiked the politics internet magazine leads with its report entitled: “Would you like relish with that A-level?” which argues that the ‘McDonaldisation’ of learning has already begun.
Two very different yet thought provoking articles on the subject of work based learning and further education.
