Promise and performance to raise basic skills in Wales

Posted by Mark Ludlam on Monday, 24 December, 2007

Professor Dylan Jones-Evans, Director of the National Entrepreneurship Observatory for Wales, welcomes the Webb Review in his personal blog

Professor Jones-Evans leads on  the proposed increase from £2 million to £10 million investment in workforce development accounts, which he argues could easily be doubled; and the proposed £40 million Employer Entitlement Account programme.  His main concern however is the Review’s attempt to tackle the problem of social exclusion or Neets of whom it is estimated there are 40,000 in Wales alone.
