Axe A-levels or diplomas will be poor relation, ministers told

The Oxford-based Nuffield Review of 14-19 education has made fundamental criticisms of the new diplomas which the government hope will replace A-Levels. They say that unless A-levels are scrapped the diplomas will always be regarded as a poor alternative.
They also argue that teachers have not been involved in their design, that the diplomas have been rushed and in some areas they have left schools attempting to convince students to take them even before the course has been properly designed.
